Stratus: web application for sustainable portfolio management

Stratus is Basler & Hofmann's application for sustainable portfolio management of real estate and infrastructure. TEQABLE redeveloped it as a web application for use in the field and put it into operation.

Situation
Basler & Hofmann works in construction, mobility, energy, safety and the environment and ran Stratus as a desktop application. Users capture objects such as buildings on site, though, and that calls for an application that runs on mobile devices.
Goal
A new business web application was to replace the desktop application and be usable in the field on mobile devices. Because users work with it on site, user experience was central from the start.
Solution
TEQABLE held full technical responsibility: from the requirements through the software architecture and its documented decisions to the implementation with tests. TEQABLE defined the operating environment, set it up and put the application into operation there. The work was agile, following Scrum, in close collaboration with Basler & Hofmann's product owner and project manager.
A software developer from Basler & Hofmann worked in the team. His knowledge of the existing software flowed into the development, and Basler & Hofmann built up its own know-how of the new application along the way, which later made support and maintenance easier.
After the handover, TEQABLE coached the project and helped set up the maintenance organisation.
Outcome
- Desktop application replaced by a web application, usable on mobile in the field
- Operating environment set up and application put into operation
- Know-how handed over to Basler & Hofmann, maintenance organised
